in our world’s worsening environmental crisis, eco bags is one fashionable prevention each one of us could do.
My eco bag
And I’m planning to make some more (great gift ideas)! I have already the needed materials to start with
This is a bag I put together (when I was in 4th year college) out of denim scraps. I let mom sew it for me. I used it as a bag for a while. Then decided to use it as an eco bag.
I have to admit na minsan I forget bringing it especially if I only bring my purse. So if you’re bringing a large bag make sure you stock 1 or 2 eco-bag. Sometimes a shopping or grocery spree is inevitable. Just explain to the cashier and bagger that you would like to use eco-bags (exception to the rule are the frozen items e.g. chicken, beef etc.). They’ll understand.
You can buy this or get it for free with a certain purchase and SM advantage card holders. But lately the bags they are giving out are a lot smaller than the first batch.
The red bag
Free if you got a 1000 php or more purchases. They’re also selling it for 65 php (i think)
I’m not a plastic bag (anya hindmarch)
Last November they are selling this 2 for 499 php. Not bad coz an original item for this eco bag are worth bajillions. Well there are many copy cat versions of this at Divisoria, Trinoma and anywhere bangketas are seen.
For a certain purchase you could avail it for free. Its also sold at in a “i-forgot-the-price” if you want one. Limited stocks only. Materials used are tarpaulins from their billboards.
Made of tarpaulins (recycled)

Twiggy bag and erin o’ connor
and a lime green version
For a purchase of 500 you can get for only 35 php. And I got 2. It comes in two colors gold and silver. I got the silver one. The gold eco bag are for the jeans. Sayang I like it better than the silver.
made out from tetra packs
I think this is also endorsed by dorothy perkins
And it has taken UK by storm.
proudly pinoy made
I think Miriam Defensor Santiago passed a bill (which I think is already a law) on using eco-bags in establishments. Good one.
One thing I noticed though was the improper use of eco-bags. Most of the time I see it used as a purse/shoulder bag/hand bag. Argh!
